Shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, Sehwan Sharif Sindh Pakistan

Syed Usman Marvandi (1177 – 1274), popularly known as Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (Sindhi: لعل شھباز قلندر‎), was a Sufisaint and philosopher-poet of present-day Afghanistan and Pakistan. He is highly regarded and respected by people of all religions because he preached religious tolerance among Muslims and Hindus.

He was called Lal ("ruby-colored") after his usual red attire and Shahbaz to denote a noble and divine spirit and Qalandaras he was a wandering holy man.

Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, son of Ibrahim Kabeeruddin, was born in Maiwand, Afghanistan. His ancestors had migrated from Baghdad, Iraq and settled in Mashhad, Iran before moving to Maiwand. He lived when the Ghaznavid and Ghuridsruled in the Indus region.

لال شہباز قلندر (1177ء تا 1274ء) جن کا اصل نام سید عثمان مروندی تھا، سندھ میں مدفون ایک مشہور صوفی بزرگ تھے۔ ان کا مزار سندھ کے علاقے سیہون شریف میں ہے۔ وہ ایک مشہور صوفی بزرگ، شاعر، الٰہیات دان، فلسفی اور قلندر تھے۔ ان کا زمانہ اولیائے کرام کا زمانہ مشہور ہے۔ مشہور بزرگ شیخ بہاؤ الدین زکریا ملتانی، شیخ فرید الدین گنج شکر، شمس تبریزی،مخدوم عبدالرشیدحقانیؒ،جلال الدین رومی اور سید جلال الدین سرخ بخاری، صدر الدین عارف (فرزند بہاؤ الدین زکریا)، شیخ بو علی قلندر پانی پتی ان کے قریباً ہم عصر تھے
